Green Schools Challenge

Registration is open for the 2016 VSBA Green Schools Challenge

The VSBA Green Schools Challenge is an annual friendly competition designed to encourage implementation of specific environmental policies and practical actions that reduce the carbon emissions generated by both the local school division and the broader community. School divisions can become a certified "Green School Division", and many of these actions can save local school divisions money. Even if your division has participated in the past, each school division must register each year to receive a "green key".

NEW THIS YEAR: This year school divisions who have won in the past are able to win again if their submission fits the following criterion: 1) the program they are submitting is a new innovation in their division or 2) there have been new updates to improve the innovation they submitted and won with previously.

To register for the VSBA Green Schools Challenge, please have a representative of your school division visit this link: http://www.gogreenva.org/?/challenge/participate/id/2. The deadline for the 2016 VSBA Green Schools Challenge is September 23, 2016.

We look forward to the eighth year of the VSBA Green Schools Challenge and to seeing all of the great things your division is doing to help promote sustainability. If you have any questions, please contact Brianna Hundley, coordinator of board development, at 434-295-8722 or brianna@vsba.org.
